Many companies have found managing their online reputation to be a top priority. Our image depends mostly on what people think about us. The internet holds that information, which means everyone has easy access to it. Who hasn’t checked the reviews of a hotel or a restaurant before booking?

Whether we know the users or not, we trust in their opinions as if they were recommendations because they come from a real consumer. Projecting a positive image of our company is very beneficial, both to increase our clients loyalty and to get new clients. This is why a determining factor in our company’s profitability is having a good online reputation; it could lead to more sales, trust and loyal users.

Today we give you some tips to take care of our business’ online reputation:

1. Clarity and transparency

Transparency will help users gain more trust in us. The company must show its products and services in a clear and explicit way.

Highlighting unrealistic or exaggerated characteristics of our business is not convenient since the user’s expectations before consuming our product/service will be too high and will inevitably end in disappointment.

2. Learn from your mistakes

Once the mistake has been made, we must learn from it and try not making it again. This gives us the chance to improve day by day. Making mistakes is human, admit your mistakes and apologize, users always appreciate honesty. Whenever possible, we need to solve our client’s problem as quickly and effectively as possible. If it can’t be solved because it has already happened, like for instance a bad service at a restaurant, we must act with honesty, acknowledging our mistake and apologizing.

3. Manage reviews

The online world doesn’t understand schedules, so we must be on the lookout for comments and reviews. Users love interacting with brands, don’t let them hanging and pay attention to them.  

4. Optimize your website

Our website is our online showcase. Appearing in the first search pages is important, since it helps improve the company’s reputation. Furthermore, we must have a website that is both responsive and easy to navigate, adapted to any mobile device.

5. Don’t neglect social media

Don’t make accounts in social media platforms if you won’t use them. In those platforms you are present, be consistent with your posts and updated information and be on the lookout for comments, questions or suggestions. The most important action you can take is keeping in touch with your followers, being close and accessible.

6. Improve the client’s experience

Make your clients feel unique and different. If they get a positive experience, they will surely make it known in different social media platforms. What better publicity than satisfied customers?
